You are members of a tour group. Each member has a personal interest which leads him/her to participate in a tour of that region. These people will take imaginary trips to a region to research their questions.
The class will be divided into four groups. Each group will be assigned a region and will complete a WebQuest based on culturally related questions.
It will be the group's job to: 1) have each member assume one role and write up the members' list of your tour (ignore extra roles) along with their role. You may give your person a suitable French name ; 2) create and submit an itinerary of your group's tour with dates and places ; 3) collate your group's diaries into the correct order to match your itinerary
Each quest member is expected to: 1) research one set of questions related to his/her role using the links provided and any other resources you find. Sources must be documented and a basic bibliography submitted for each person with websites and other sources, cited informally at the bottom of his/her journal entry.
3) create and submit a diary/travelog/report based on the answer to each question and the imaginary trip your person made, appropriate for what their character would have done. It will be one full typed page, double spaced, size 10 minimum, non-collapsible font.
4) return from your trip with an appropriate "souvenir"
5) teach the class about who you were, where you went, what you saw, why you picked that souvenir, why you had fun, and any other salient points about your character's imaginary trip (an oral presentation). Each group will be assigned a class period to present. You may show pages from websites and your research as you tell the story of your trip.
NOTE: the written report may be in English but the oral will be in French.
We will all go to the library for a certain number of class times when you may work as a group and individually but it is your responsibility to finish the work in a timely manner.
