To understand the customs of a country enables us to better understand the people and to in turn to understand ourselves. We study bullfighting, not for the gory details, or just to discuss animal rights, but to understand its historical and cultural origins and to understand how it became part of hispanic cultures in certain countries. Whether or not you agree or end up being an "aficionado"of bullfighting, it is important to have a educated opinion on the topic.
