As part of your studies for chapters 3 and 4 of French 2 for Mme Zerneri,  you are going to do a report based on a research project on the internet.  Each student in the class will choose a different topic from the grid below and explore the information at that website.  Most, but not all, of these sites may be visited in multiple languages.  Each member of the class will present an oral report in English accompanied by showing the site to the class and submit a short written report beforehand in English. Afterwards there will be a cuture test based on everyone's reports and what we have studied in class.

For your report you will need :

 1.  to submit a written summary of at least half a typewritten page, standard maragins and font (large enought font to be photocopied, near the size I am using), not double spaced, in English, to be passed out the class. I will collate them and make a study guide for the class. Typed/wordprocessed is greatly preferred.  You may submit them on a disk if in Word or Windows '95 or an older program my computer can read.  Be sure to put your name, period, and the date submitted in the report. Any visuals must be small. Another option is to e-mail them to me at the address at the bottom of this page.

It should include : the name of  the webpage and its URL (address), what monument. place, or thing the webpage is about, where in Paris or Paris region the monument etc. is located, some information about why it is famous, what one can do/see at the webpage and at the actual place, hours of business, entree fees, usefullness of the website, if it can be visited in English, etc.

2. to be able to talk to the class about your monument or whatever it is for two to three minutes in English. You should be familiar with the monument or place and not be reading the screen or your report.

3. to be able to show them the highlights of what is at the site, i.e. major information, interactive aspects, good/bad points, nice visuals, etc., using the computer and the big screen in the classroom.

There will be a enought of a delay in between the submission of the written reports and the presentation of the orals to allow for technical difficulties.  You are welcome to explore all the websites, an especially good idea before the test, but please do your report on your assigned website. Notify me immediately by e-mail me if the site has moved or you have other techinical difficulities. Late papers without being cleared from me with be penalized.
