These pages will attempt to show scenes of interest in and around Narsarsuaq (BW1). The pages indexed on
the right of this page will show our family enjoying the weather, hiking, and picniking. It will show freinds
partying, fishing and enjoying the friendship of others who are assigned to a base just a little short of nowhere.
(The numbers that are under the pictures have no particular meaning other than to me and my indexing, pay no
attention to them)

I have been asked not to identify the people in the pictures (something about legal issues) even though many of
them have since passed away. Those of you who were there know them, those of you who were not there
wouldn't know them anyway, so I have removed the names. If you were there and have forgotten the names,
send me an e-mail and I will try to identify the people for you.

As kids in this strange but fun environment, we had a great time; the fishing, hiking, mountain climbing, and the
snow, what a great place to play. Cold, what cold?

The photos on these pages are actually slides and were taken by my father, Capt. Robert N. Cressy, USAR.
They are over 40 years old so the colors on some of them are starting to fade or change. Also some scratches
and spots have started to form. I will attempt to correct as many of these problems as I can in order to give you
a better idea of life on the edge of a glacier. Believe it or not, it was a great place to live..
