M/V Margaret Johnson II
M/V Margaret Johnson II (SHGT)
Built
at Wärtsilä Shipyard, Åbo, Finland as new construction, hull number 1171. She was launched in
August 1, 1969 and delivered in Mars 1, 1970. She was sold in February 6, 1986 to the
Greek ships owner Antonis Lelakis and his Regency Cruises and registered on Hunton
Navigation in Liberia. The plan was to convert her into the modern cruiser ship Regent
Sky, but things didn´t quite happen that way and the main engines, auxiliary
engines, control room, gear and the KaMeVa was removed to Regent Star ex. Rhapsody ex.
Statendam. The rest of Regent Sky was towed from Piraeus December 2, 1987 and she arrived
Aliaga in December 5, 1987 to be scrapped. She was equipped with two Wärtsiläbuilt
Pielstickengine 16PC2-V and two 12PC2-V delivering 19.139 kW. and one reduction gear
coupled to two KaMeVa propellers. She was at 16080 tons d.w. and had a speed at 23 knots.
