"The Haughty Naughty"
This is our Horticultural show which is the
highlight of every year, because something actually happens here! It
happens on the first Saturday of every August and there are several
categories, including cooking, artists work, plants and kid's stuff. It's really
cheap to enter and to go and have a look at all the exhibits so if
you're in the area, come and have a look! Unfortunately last year I forgot
my camera so I will endeavour to get some pictures next year. The Haughty
Naughty is on the first Saturday of August, so this year it will probably be on
the 5th August.
The Chelsea Flower Show
Our small village has managed to get a courtyard garden at the Chelsea
Flower show occasionally and we have done very well, with several gold and
silver gilt medals. This year our garden was based on the willow pattern plates,
with much blue and white. It was a lovely garden and I even managed to
help take it apart at the end of the show. Unfortunately we only got a
bronze. I heard discussions of maybe another garden next year, perhaps we
aren't giving up yet!
