and so, as we entered the
middle of 1996, the houseboat was jacked up into the air, and
blocked .. there was work to be done. Specifically, glueing
plywood around the entire hull, and then fibreglassing it -
before adding 3 keels. It was a bit scarey when the wind rattled
past with a fury though because we were ..

... working under 18 tons
of boat ...

and then it
came down on to the hard foreshore again, with some careful
jacking up, removing a block, letting it down, along to the next
stack, up - remove - down, along to the next stack ...

.. it took
a day. And the hull still seeps a little water *sob* - but at
least it's manageable
